Amikacin's FDA label of December 10, 2025 names furosemide in its boxed warning section; the furosemide labels PlainMeds reads (4) do not name amikacin. The amikacin label: “Avoid concomitant use of ARIKAYCE with ethacrynic acid, furosemide, urea, or intravenous mannitol.”

What does the amikacin label say about furosemide?

The concurrent use of amikacin with potent diuretics (ethacrynic acid, or furosemide) should be avoided since diuretics by themselves may cause ototoxicity.
