Enalapril and temsirolimus

Enalapril's FDA label of January 23, 2026 names temsirolimus in its drug interactions section; temsirolimus's label does not name enalapril itself but warns about its class (ACE inhibitors). The enalapril label: “7.6 mTOR Inhibitors Patients taking concomitant mTOR inhibitor therapy may be at increased risk for angioedema.”

What does the enalapril label say about temsirolimus?

Gold Nitritoid reactions (symptoms include facial flushing, nausea, vomiting and hypotension) have been reported rarely in patients on therapy with injectable gold (sodium aurothiomalate) and concomitant ACE inhibitor therapy including VASOTEC. mTOR (Mammalian Target of Rapamycin) Inhibitors Patients receiving coadministration of ACE inhibitor and mTOR inhibitor (e.g., temsirolimus, sirolimus, everolimus) therapy may be at increased risk for angioedema (see WARNINGS , Head and Neck Angioedema ).

Patients receiving coadministration of ACE inhibitor and mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) inhibitor (e.g., temsirolimus, sirolimus, everolimus) therapy or a neprilysin inhibitor may be at increased risk for angioedema (see PRECAUTIONS ).

Temsirolimus's label does not name enalapril itself; it warns about its class (ACE inhibitors):

If alternative treatment cannot be administered, a dose adjustment should be considered [see Dosage and Administration (2.4) ]. Angioedema with ACE inhibitors and Calcium Channel Blockers Angioedema has been reported in patients taking mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors in combination with ramipril and/or amlodipine.

Temsirolimus label, drug interactions

Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of angioedema when temsirolimus is given concomitantly with angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (e.g., ramipril) or calcium channel blockers (CCB) (e.g., amlodipine).
