Colchicine's FDA label (Lodoco) of August 13, 2026 names verapamil in its drug interactions section; the verapamil labels PlainMeds reads (4) do not name colchicine. The colchicine label: “Significant increase in colchicine plasma concentration is anticipated.”

Lodoco label (AGEPHA Pharma USA, LLC, August 13, 2026), drug interactionsDrug class: Moderate CYP3A4 Inhibitors amprenavir aprepitant diltiazem erythromycin fluconazole, fosamprenavir (prodrug of amprenavir) verapamil; Outcome/effect: Significant increase in colchicine plasma concentration is anticipated.; Clinical comment: Monitor patients receiving moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors for signs of colchicine toxicity. Avoid use in patients with existing renal or hepatic impairment [see Warnings and Precautions (5)].
Gloperba label (Scilex Pharmaceuticals Inc., November 1, 2024), drug interactionsToxicities have also been reported when colchicine is administered with inhibitors of CYP3A4 that may not be potent inhibitors of P-gp (e.g., grapefruit juice, erythromycin, verapamil), or inhibitors of P-gp that may not be potent inhibitors of CYP3A4 (e.g., cyclosporine).
