What the FDA labels say about taking them together
Bumetanide and indomethacin
Bumetanide's FDA label of September 8, 2025 names indomethacin in its drug interactions section; indomethacin's label does not name bumetanide itself but warns about its class (Loop diuretics). The bumetanide label: “DRUG INTERACTIONS Lithium may reduce renal clearance of bumetanide and add a high risk of lithium toxicity. Probenecid reduces both the natriuresis and hyperreninemia. …”

What does the bumetanide label say about indomethacin?
Bumetanide label, drug interactionsIndomethacin Indomethacin blunts the increases in urine volume and sodium excretion seen during Bumex treatment and inhibits the bumetanide-induced increase in plasma renin activity.
Enbumyst label (Corstasis USA LLC, August 27, 2026), drug interactionsDRUG INTERACTIONS Lithium may reduce renal clearance of bumetanide and add a high risk of lithium toxicity. ( 7 ) Probenecid reduces both the natriuresis and hyperreninemia. ( 7 ) Indomethacin blunts the increase in urine volume and sodium excretion. ( 7 ) Drugs with ototoxic potential: avoid parenteral bumetanide in patients receiving aminoglycoside antibiotics. ( 7 ) Drugs with nephrotoxic potential: the simultaneous administration of ENBUMYST with drugs of nephrotoxic potential should be avoided. ( 7 ) Antihypertensive effects may be potentiated by bumetanide.

What does the indomethacin label say about bumetanide?
Indomethacin's label does not name bumetanide itself; it warns about its class (Loop diuretics):
Indomethacin label, drug interactionsClinical studies, as well as post-marketing observations, showed that NSAIDs reduced the natriuretic effect of loop diuretics (e.g., furosemide) and thiazide diuretics in some patients.
Indomethacin label, warnings and precautionsHypertension NSAIDs, including indomethacin capsules, can lead to new onset of hypertension or worsening of preexisting hypertension, either of which may contribute to the increased incidence of CV events. Patients taking angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, thiazide diuretics, or loop diuretics may have impaired response to these therapies when taking NSAIDs [ see Drug Interactions (7) ].
