Posaconazole's FDA label of August 3, 2026 names ergotamine in its contraindications section; the ergotamine label PlainMeds reads does not name posaconazole. The posaconazole label: “Noxafil may increase the plasma concentrations of ergot alkaloids which may lead to ergotism.”

What does the posaconazole label say about ergotamine?

Posaconazole label, contraindications

Posaconazole delayed-release tablets may increase the plasma concentrations of ergot alkaloids (ergotamine and dihydroergotamine) which may lead to ergotism [see Drug Interactions (7.2) ].
