Diflunisal and Hydrochlorothiazide Interaction
Drug interaction information between Diflunisal and Hydrochlorothiazide.
Diflunisal and Hydrochlorothiazide have a documented minor interaction in FDA labeling.
FDA drug labeling documents a minor-severity interaction between Diflunisal and Hydrochlorothiazide. This page displays the available source-record category and label text. The category is not an individual risk estimate or medication-combination direction.
How They Interact
Diflunisal causes the body to keep more of the water pill in the blood, which might make the water pill stronger. It also changes how the water pill affects certain chemicals like uric acid in the body.
FDA Label Information
In normal volunteers, concomitant administration of diflunisal and hydrochlorothiazide resulted in significantly increased plasma levels of hydrochlorothiazide. Diflunisal decreased the hyperuricemic effect of hydrochlorothiazide.
