Dexamethasone's FDA label (Hemady) of January 9, 2026 names lenalidomide in its warnings and precautions section, and lenalidomide's label names dexamethasone too. The lenalidomide label: “… stroke in patients with multiple myeloma who were treated with REVLIMID and dexamethasone therapy.”

The risk for venous and arterial thromboembolism increases significantly when dexamethasone is administered with anti-myeloma products (e.g., thalidomide, lenalidomide, pomalidomide, and carfilzomib).

What does the lenalidomide label say about dexamethasone?

Lenalidomide label, boxed warning

Venous and Arterial Thromboembolism REVLIMID has demonstrated a significantly increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with multiple myeloma who were treated with REVLIMID and dexamethasone therapy.

Lenalidomide label, drug interactions

It is not known whether there is an interaction between dexamethasone and warfarin.

Increased Mortality: Observed in patients with MM when pembrolizumab was added to dexamethasone and a thalidomide analogue ( 5.7 ).
