Budesonide and erythromycin

Budesonide's FDA label (Eohilia) of February 3, 2025 names erythromycin in its drug interactions section; the erythromycin labels PlainMeds reads (4) do not name budesonide. The budesonide label: “Inhibitors of CYP3A4 can increase systemic budesonide concentrations.”

What does the budesonide label say about erythromycin?

Eohilia label (TAKEDA PHARMACEUTICALS AMERICA, INC., February 3, 2025), drug interactions

Concomitant use of budesonide with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, indinavir, saquinavir, erythromycin, cyclosporine, grapefruit juice) can increase systemic budesonide concentrations [see Clinical Pharmacology (12.3) ].

Tarpeyo label (Calliditas Therapeutics AB, January 21, 2026), drug interactions

Avoid use with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors; e.g. ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, indinavir, saquinavir, erythromycin, and cyclosporine [see Clinical Pharmacology ( 12.3 )].
