Amoxicillin and azithromycin

Azithromycin's FDA label of December 4, 2025 names amoxicillin in its warnings and precautions section; the amoxicillin labels PlainMeds reads (2) do not name azithromycin. The azithromycin label: “… exposed to azithromycin relative to other antibacterial drugs, including amoxicillin.”

What does the azithromycin label say about amoxicillin?

Azithromycin label, warnings and precautions

Some observational studies have shown an approximately two-fold increased short-term potential risk of acute cardiovascular death in adults exposed to azithromycin relative to other antibacterial drugs, including amoxicillin.
